Chorus 1 Mr. Right has you Right where he wants you Right in this moment Right in his arms Verse 2 Match.com tells you That you’re heading For a love ever after The music, the wine, The food was divine! A night of laughter… Chorus 2 Mr. Right has you Right where he wants you Right in this moment Right in his arms Bridge She gives him a wink. Have another drink. They’ve got a burning love ahead Sacrifice Place him in the statue, Right upon the throne. Break his arms and break his legs. We will watch him burn

Douchebag 06:58
Verse 1 I couldn’t help myself but be underwhelmed. She couldn’t help herself but be under him. I was so ashamed that I hide my face. To think that this could be the man who took my place? Chorus But somewhere in the distance, Jesus sheds a tear, Cuz he can’t believe what’s happened to this world. You’re just a douchebag. Wearing leather She could have done so much better than you. Verse 2 All I want is what you’ve got. But my heart was in the right place and my head was not. I can’t believe she took to you! What was I supposed to do? Chorus But somewhere in the distance, Jesus sheds a tear, Cuz he can’t believe what’s happened to this world. You’re just a douchebag. Wearing leather She could have done so much better than you. Chorus 3 Baby - he’s just a douchebag Wearing leather. You could have done so much better. I was lost without you, But now I gather, I should have done so much better than you.

Verse 1 I’m sorry, That you had to go through this. When the world had you up against a wall, But I let you fall to bits. Believing, You think I didn’t even care. When the world had you hanging on a rope, And I’m the one who kicked the chair. Chorus You know it didn’t have to go this far. And now you’re telling all the world your story - How all you needed was a little help, But I let you down, my friend. Verse 2 Talk to me, Tell me that your life’s a bitch. When the girl had you reaching out your hand, And all she gave you back was a fist. I’m sorry, That I keep messing you around. Sinking love has you clutching at a straw. But I keep cutting you back down. Chorus You know it didn’t have to go this far. And now you’re telling all the world your story - How all you needed was a little help, But I let you down. And you were reaching out your hand, Because the woman that you love desert you. And all you needed was a little help, But I let you down, my friend. Bridge Snuff yourself out. You were hanging on to a telephone call. You need a friend to see you through it all. Snuff yourself out. I was hanging up on the telephone call. I only had myself to blame for it all. Chorus You know it didn’t have to go this far. And now you’re telling all the world your story - How all you needed was a little help, But I let you down. And you were reaching out your hand, Because the woman that you love desert you. And all you needed was fucking help, But I let you down, my friend.

about

Recording for Take The Hit began in 2012 but llfe got in the way and the project was shelved for many years. It was picked back up in the pandemic, re-invigorated and infused with years of learnings and lived experiences. In 2023 it is finally ready to go out into the world!

Musically, it oscillates from Rush to Racer X, from Blues Traveller to Dream Theater, from Cynic to Incubus and so many musical moods and moments along the way. The drums roll and the guitars widdle. The bass shreds while the keyboard soar above it all. The lyrics explore themes of heartbreak and relationships that fail.

Brace yourself! We hope you enjoy this record as much as we enjoyed making it.
